Crazy Girls. Joy Edition

Crazy Girls. Joy Edition

Oh boy, do I have a juicy story for you! So, our friend Joy has been begging me for days to loan her some cash again. Every time she asked, I just told her to talk to Pranee. Let's be real here - Joy needs to learn how to work harder here to try to earn more.

Here's a breakdown of Joy's monthly expenses:

1) Car: 3,813
2) Electric: 600 - 800
3) Gas: 500 x 12 trips to dialysis = 6,000
4) Food: 3,500
Total needed monthly: 14,113

Let’s just say 15,000. This doesn’t include any miscellaneous items so this is the minimum. This also is mostly medical expenses in my view. The car is needed to get to her dialysis appointments. The gas is so high because of the 12 long round trips a month to dialysis. At least 12 trips as she sometimes has other doctor appointments.

That’s not so bad because last month she made 25,000 baht here. However, she made most of that in the first 2 weeks as she posted interesting posts everyday for 2 weeks and then just… stopped with the interesting posts.

So, Pranee has been trying to teach Joy how to make more money, but it seems like she's just not listening. So yesterday, Joy calls me crying about how she doesn't have any money to eat. And while it's tempting to feel sorry for her, I can't help but think that she brought this on herself. She doesn’t stay consistent posting interesting blog post all month. She’ll post interesting for awhile, make a good amount of money, then stop.

So… against my better judgement, I decided to loan her some cash anyway. I sent her 6,000 baht, which should have been enough to cover her car payment, electric bill, a few meals, and maybe a trip or two to dialysis. But wouldn't you know it - she had significant late fees on her car payment! And that's not even the worst part... Just take a look at her blog post for the 11th. I asked her who she took to dinner, and it turns out she took her mother and sister out on money she borrowed from me! I mean, it's nice that she's treating her family, but come on - she can't afford to do that this month! Maybe if she worked really hard and earned the money next month, she could treat them then. But borrowing money and then taking people out to dinner? That's just plain crazy!

Unfortunately she doesn’t get it AT ALL. I welcome some of you to try to explain it to her.
