I wanted to update everyone on the recent situation with Poy’s rent. After speaking directly with the landlord on the phone, there was some confusion. When I first called, the landlord didn’t seem to know who Poy was, but he mentioned that the rent for that unit was 1,500 baht, not 2,500 baht as Poy had claimed. This amount made sense because Poy had told us she needed 1,500 baht after I yapped her about not making the baby’s father help. These girls can spread their legs for some of the most worthless men and not use protection. So I always give them a hard time about that and she knew to expect it. She was prepared this time when I started yapping as she claimed that the baby’s father had already contributed 1,000 baht towards the rent. So my assumption is that she just made up the 1,000 contribution and claimed she needed 1,500 more.
During all this, Poy is trying to get me NOT to contact the landlord and just send her the money. She didn’t know that I had already spoken to the landlord. She continued to say the rent was 2,500.
Another call to the landlord and rent is now 2,500 and he knows exactly who Poy is at that unit. Obviously, Poy has contacted the landlord. To clear things up, I decided to send someone to meet the landlord in person and pay the rent directly and question the landlord.
The next day, Kannikar goes to meet the landlord and see the units. When questioned about the earlier amount, he just laughed it off. Kannikar was also able to see the neighboring apartment, which, despite being old and run-down, did seem a bit too cheap at 1,500 baht per month. 2,500 is probably a fair price for the unit so maybe that is the real rent. Kannikar gives him only 1,500 baht and when questioned she instructs him to collect the additional 1,000 baht from Poy.
During the visit, a man came out of Poy’s unit and spoke to the landlord. The landlord asked him if Poy was awake and asked if Kannikar wanted to speak to her, Kannikar declined the offer as she was just there to gather information.
The following night, Poy asked when she could cash out to pay the rent, which was odd because she should have known 1,500 it was already covered. Didn’t the landlord ask her for the extra 1,000 baht? Didn’t the man who came out inform her that Kannikar was there to pay part of the rent?
Maybe rent was only 1,500 then. So I confront Poy about the rent amount, she insisted it was 2,500 baht and suggested I ask her sister Mae to verify. Mae is known for being very honest. However, I decided against involving her sister, as it would be unfair to put Mae in a position where she’d have to choose between lying to me or betraying her sister. Not something I should do.
Regardless, the rent has been paid, and we are assuming it is 2,500 baht as the unit looked to be about worth that. The landlord also mentioned that the rent is due again by the 5th, which is very quickly approaching. So Poy is still in a tough situation where she can’t afford the rent on her own. We hope to see more fans step up and sponsor her. Poy is committed to providing plenty of great content almost daily in return for your support.
I made a deal with the first sponsor to pay just half the monthly amount. I was to pitch in the other half. However, after all the confusion about the rent amount I decided that instead of giving my 1/2 to Poy directly or even to the landlord that I’d fund 1,500 baht worth of clothing so she could post better blogs and make more money in the long term as a result. I told her to order the items one at a time via COD, get my approval before ordering, send me the bill and I’d immediately send the money for her to pay when they arrive. This will help her to be able to better pay her rent in the future I decided. Just covering her rent today will not help next time it’s due. She agreed, yet she’s already asked me to pay her the money now because she needed food and that she’d order the items later. How the hell will she be able to order them later? I understand she’s hungry but solving her situation today isn’t going to help her in the future like my plan will.
Thanks those of you who sent hearts on her blogs. She Cashed Out and bought food with that money. Thank you to the fan who sponsored her at the 1/2 discounted rate, I made sure that money was handed directly to the landlord. I encourage others to consider helping her either by sending hearts on her blogs or by sponsoring her in which case I’ll make sure your sponsorship funds are handed directly to the landlord. And of course, thank you to Kannikar for taking her time to investigate this and meet with the landlord. Kannikar was very smart about her approach and pretended like she was interested in also looking for a unit for a friend in order to try to get the real price. Landlord was sticking with the 2,500 baht and showed her paperwork indicating that price--so maybe that is the real price.
